Yeah, you probably thought I was going to waste my time bashing MySpace(garbage) but I’m not. I promised that I would post some pictures of the stage and I am going to do that! I am super pumped about the transformation we have seen. This thing has gone from OK, in my opinion, to pretty daggum tight! The pictures are a little blurry b/c they were taken from my Blackberry because our $1,200 camera here at the church is too hard to figure out. (Yes I am technologically illiterate!) Anyways, take a peak!
The first step in the process was taking the blue curtain down that was hanging in the back. When we (Rodney Miller and Me…btw Rodney is the flippin man. He can do pretty much anything when it comes to well, anything. Seriously) took down the curtain we sprayed the back wall flat black. Honestly, it was like that for too long. I didn’t really have a plan (actually I did but it cost too much) so it stayed black for about two months. After some serious discontent and knowing the start of a new year was coming I began to scramble and puts some thoughts together and what you see is what I envisioned come to fruition. I took a piece of paper and drew it and Rodney took me to Lowe’s and then he built it. It is incredible. The outer frame is 8 ft x 8 ft. The inner square that says New Years Revolution is 4ft x 4ft. All the outer squares are 2ft x 2ft, you probably already knew that if you can do math, ha! The four corners are from Rosebrand.com. The place is expensive but they got some pretty tight stuff. The rest of the squares are made from a material called jet-set that I purchased at J0-Ann Fabrics. It is a two way stretch and we fastened it with staples from the rear. Those can lights are just randomly sitting there on the floor and they weren’t producing any light for that picture. My goal is to get 4 LED lights to put on the truss so that we can mix colors and not have to change gels. That is the ultimate goal. So that is it, that is the stage in our youth room. PLEASE COMMENT ON IT AND TELL ME WHAT YOU LIKE (OR DON’T LIKE FOR THAT MATTER) AND WHAT YOU THINK WE COULD POSSIBLY ADD. I look at it all the time so maybe somebody with a fresh view can give me some insight. I hope you guys enjoy!
